PETITION ON BEHALF OF RENEE DANIELLE BOJE,

A woman facing up to life for medical cannabis charges  in California where medical marijuana is legal!

We the undersigned, respectfully remind Prime Minister Jean Chretien, Justice Minister Irwin Cotler, and members of the Canadian parliament that prison conditions in the United States of America have been condemned by Amnesty International,  and that the sentence imposed for a marijuana-related offense in the US is grossly disproportionate to the severity of the offense and by far exceeds in severity the sentence in other Western countries such as Canada. For both these reasons and because sentencing policy in the United States for marijuana-related offenses is irrational, cruel, and alien to accepted standards of morality, we ask you to prevent the extradition of Renee Boje to the US and grant her refugee status in Canada. We do this in the name of an independent Canada and Canada’s reputation as a force for moderation in today’s world. Thank you!
